The only part of this I agree with is that leveling up TP has little impact due to how expensive it is. The only starting character with prohibitively low TP is Patchouli. You can largely avoid grinding in LoT until the post-game if you know what you're doing.

You can also just run from encounters if you're planning to take on a boss. That consumes some TP, but there is no way you're going to run out before getting there. This also assures you will have full MP.
