I think that, above everything else, Maiyan is very intelligent. When everyone praises you and loves you, you may believe it and become a bitchy Ohime-sama (Like Acchan said she was and even apologized for it). Maiyan avoided that by being smart. She decided not "accept" that she is perfect in many people's eye, but to simple try her best to live up those expectations.

And that shows up when she doesn't live up to her perfect image. When she fails at something, she genuinely cries for letting everyone down. She has done that when giving a wrong answer in nogidoko, or doing a wrong pose in a stupid pose game, but it is more clearly seen when she missed that infamous first pitch.

She probably think something like: "I'm not perfect, but I will try my best to not let down the people who think I am" to not lose her goal or let her fame take the best of her attitude. She is so fucking level-headed is scary.

What do you guys think of Legacy Maiyan? She still had this reclusive aura in the start. For what she said in the documentary, she was probably still a hikkikomori a week before auditions. Almost 20 years old, still a hikkikomori, but very attractive. Do you guys realize how close Shiraishi was to be posted in /jav/ instead?
