Ange's whole arc was great. People who say the question arcs are the only good ones are usually just upset about the direction the series took later on. Those who remained firmly anti-magic and hated seeing Battler forgive Beato, or who hated the Shannon-Kanon twists. Basically, they say it's shit because they don't like the way it turned out.

Bullshit. The message is uncompromised regardless of the changes it makes. You don't have to obstinately deflect any changes as being negative. Admitting that something can be improved on isn't the same as calling it lacking.
