ZUN's stories are bad, so even if he created something new it would also be bad. ZUN is good at creating gameplay and characters, but when it comes to making a motive/plot for said characters, he's terrible. What was IN's plot again, replace the moon with a real moon so that...? I'll let you finish. The stories about the creation of the Lunar Capital and Gensokyo are the ONLY good plots ZUN has written.

Are you an idiot. They're not going to make an entire anime for a few Touhou fans. For an anime to be successful it would have to receive a lot of ratings from fans and newcomers. At best there's only 50,000 Touhou fans. And out of that number only a few of them would buy an anime DVD. Double Spoilers only sold 10k units. If ZUN had millions of fans, as I assume you think he has, ZUN would be a multi-millionaire by now. Hell, even if PCB sold 200k units ZUN wouldn't have to make another game for the rest of his life. In his latest interview ZUN said he's still working at a company.

It's really bad. That's all I'll say about it. Check the easymodo archive for instances of "+SSIB +shit" and you'll see my opinion is in the majority. SSiB destroyed Marisa for some fans because it portrayed her as a whiny coward in her battle against the moonbitch.

ZUN said that our human mortality is the result of our impure Earth. A sage who wanted to live forever started a 'pure' civilization on the moon that allowed its inhabitants to live forever (under the condition that they stayed pure) [1].

The sage feared an invasion from the (ever advancing) humans that he left behind on Earth. In order to keep said humans in check, the Lunarians invented youkai -- with the sole purpose of making the Earth more impure [2]. As time went on brave humans were sent out to exterminate youkai resulting in the advent of the Hakurei barrier. As the times changed, Earth was no longer a suitable habitat for lower level youkai. A youkai named Yukari became concerned with the humans' ever advancing influence and decided to create a world for youkai in a region known as Gensokyo [3].

In an attempt to increase the quality of life in Gensokyo, Yukari cooked up a plan to secure the Lunarians' paramount invention that granted them a limitless supply of energy. The plan ended in failure because there weren't enough strong youkai back in those times [4]. Yukari would later go on to breakdown the boundaries between humans and youkai. For reasons yet to be specified [5].

That's why Keine couldn't rewrite history for Mokou. Mokou was rendered an eternal being when she drank the Hourai Elixir. Because eternity (official PMiST quote) "refers to a world with no history", Mokou was, will, and always has been, an eternal being like Kaguya.
She was never created, never destroyed...simply just always there...what a mind blower.
