Reiwa Mion just comes off as a very surface level take on her, like what you'd get from someone who has only watched the Deen anime.

"Tomboy club leader and Sonozaki successor". That's basically what Mion is in Reiwa, not even getting to be the actual Sonozaki leader, she's still just the future successor helping the elder leader just so they don't even have to think about the idea of her actually taking over the organization. The whole aspect of her playing the role of "Mion" and her identity issues due to that is completely ignored too.

It doesn't even line up with how R07 has recently written her - like in the Higurashi Mei x Umineko collab he had Mion outright talking about understanding why Rika would want to go to St.Lucia and how she'd herself like a western atmosphere and if she could would even remodel the Sonozaki mansion in a Western style house.

She's supposed to be feel burdened by her position both back when she was the unwanted twin and later being forced to take on the role of successor and playing "Mion". It's why no twin switch and her being sent to St.Lucia in Saikoroshi is presented as a good thing for her.

R07 in the 20th anniversary event also outright talked about how the "Mion" and "Shion" roles/personalities were created before the twin switch and how for their growth they'd need to throw it away eventually be their actual selves, but Reiwa just keeps Mion like her mask in 83.

Meguri's Wataakashi actually has a pretty nice scene that shows Mion and Shion's body language completely changes when they are relaxing by themselves, with Mion being more feminine while Shion was more boyish - since their usual surface personalities are just masks originally created by each other, like R07 himself said.

I mean, Onisarashi was written after the main arcs were finished. If you mean the console version, you actually unlock Someutsushi by triggering a scene where Keiichi meets Natsumi in the general route. That said, the only interactions they have is that and then the festival in Miotsukushi.

I think the manga was coming out too close to the OG console Higurashi release to actually make a new question arc in Hinamizawa featuring her heavily. And none of the later releases added more Hinamizawa based question arcs, so her big roles are in arcs adapting her manga.
