Anki is a balance between reps and retention. You might be able to increase your retention by making cards come up more frequently, but then you will have more reps to do all the time. But having lower retention also causes more reps because of lapses. In conclusion, I have no idea what is best so I just leave everything as it is.

What do we think about LingQ?
I tried watching steve's videos years ago but his constant shilling of his website was getting annoying.
The other day I watched a few of his videos again because they were linked here and it got me thinking.
All the other websites like Duolingo are obviously trash, especially for Japanese, but Steve is very respected in these threads yet nobody ever talks about LingQ. Am I right with my lingering assumption that it's bad and thus everything he says should be taken with a grain of salt because he gives bad advice i.e. GO USE LINGQ in each and every one of his videos?
