>I would actually say that Java is a poorly designed language especially when it comes to things like abstract types.
>public abstract class _______ <? T extends I implements X,Y,Z>{
Sounds kind of abstract to me without going deeper to see what else implements T and impl/extn X,Y,Z. The problem as the anon said above is that Java wastes memory retardly to make the implimentation, polymorphism, and gestion of memory very easy, but the hierarchies that you can make with.
h Java.... show me how you manually manage the memory after the ninth inheritance.
>So if you use C++ with say, gtk or QT, SDL,boost, and/or whatever you need, then you can probably just as easily do whatever you wanted to do in Java but in C++ and build for various platforms.
To this day I've not seen a medium-low level interface for graphics as simple as Swing, in a a few hours you can write a complet interface that listens to the keys, don't talk about the damn canvas and the adapters, is too simple and sweet for a rookie to say no, maybe the only thing I've seen that comes close in simplicity is simple directmedia layer that you mencioned above.
>So I really don't see how C++ is harder to learn than Java
Picture
>C++ is just far stricter with that, and you could even argue that it greater incentive to not make careless mistakes and actually learn the language you're using.
Actually java is more strict, not javascript though, again the complexity of c++ doesn't come from a hard/complex syntax but from it being pants on head retarded, not trying to hide that is a language that can have a much higher potential than java being closer to the machine, but as long as you're not going to be sys admin or you want to make lots of effort and get frustrated, go for java or even C, if you want a simple game visual basic is also a chance.
