But the final fight in SM is an extended metaphor for sex. Think about it. Beatrix is super sexual throughout it, dominating Theodor as she tries to penetrate him. Theodor says "Here I come, Beatrix Brehme" and then roars as he thrusts his knife to the hilt into Beatrix's stomach after his successful final gambit (she'd gotten overconfident and he used that against her). Afterwards, both are covered in sweat (and blood), lying on the ground, and panting (or whimpering/moaning). Theodor himself is so exhausted that he just lies on top of Beatrix as she bleeds out. He doesn't even bother to pull out.
