>Trying to decipher a few sentences doesn't make you fluent in any way.
Not true.

>I can understand why people would like to use this method. It seems like an easy and quick way,
Because it is. This is the way I used to learn English, only wasn't yet fully aware of me using that "method" at the time.

> but in the end you can't substitute hard work for reading a few sentences.
You can read those sentences "hard" if you know what I mean. He's talking about 10 000 sets, which I wouldn't call "few sentences".

>using it as the main study method just makes you look like a lazy fuck that can't be bothered to learn seriously.
I don't care about my appearance. I'd shit on the middle of the street if I had to, if it would save me the trouble of learning boring grammar.

Learning is supposed to be fun. If I can't learn the fun way I'd rather not learn at all. Sorry but I won't take that advice, never worked for me so far.
