i can't take anything zunose makes seriously, this included. i'd say it's middle of the road on the comically grim scale, not the weirdest thing of his i've read but i just don't see why you'd actively consume it or who it's designed to cater to

i guess touhou has a niche for everyone but in zunose's case it's the equivalent of taking that suffering porn fic you wrote when you were 14 and never iterating on it. i unironically think taking the piss out of KKHTA was more fulfilling than anything of his i've read; there's just not much of substance, it's a disjointed version of Gensokyo where everything sucks now because the author has a fetish for suffering. touhou canon and most of fanon does a good job of not making youkai into contrived flanderisations of themselves, but i think with the toned up violence zunose and his grimsokyo ends up doing that anyway. it'd sort of make sense if it were set in a gensokyo, say, a few hundred years ago, but even then it's just not fun to read about unless there's something to counter how utterly nihilistic it is

oh, and specifically yukari. like, really? eating someone's head on a platter? is ran going to cut off the bits where rumia chomped on? it's just totally out of character to me. i dislike how in fanon yukari's either an incompetent oaf or a murderous sociopath, like she has a BIT more nuance, even if her primary job is teleporting humans into muenzuka as food in canon she's not a demon lady. did old exorcist man basically commit suicide? i just don't get the point of this doujin in the slightest
