I think he's just happy about the extra coverage and his work being able to reach other places.
You can talk about "DEEN's crap" but Ryukishi was excited for the anime and supposedly spent some good time explaining the entire plot of the story to Beatrice's seiyuu while letting the other voice actors in the dark.
I don't think he's a man to consider adaptations inferior, lesser versions of his work.
Who knows though.
