Ah thanks, it seems that the extra a on aattack makes a difference.

My flags are exactly the same besides the "2ndgame" as I'm still on my first run. It seems the flags log the characters you've beaten so they can appear in town and give you other services to nitori/erins store, "ending" probably adds the blue mat with the game logo to the town.

You could probably add them to any save and have everything competed just by putting the flags in, though I haven't tried myself.
