I think trying to prove Marisa is super strong kinda defeats the purpose of her character.
She's supposed to be a foil to Reimu, one gained power through hard work and is merely an "ordinary magician" while the other is the chosen one of the strongest god, but still both solve incidents.
Making her as strong as a grown man for no reason weakens her character, while her being physically stunted but getting by with ingenuity strengthens it.
