Maybe I'm remembering wrong but people had pretty much pinned Satoko as the most suspicious after episode 5 of Gou aired, at least that was when I was convinced she was the culprit. I think that part of the reason for people coming up with so many 'strange' theories is that they were expecting Sotsugou to have much more depth to it, a depth that it never had, the answer to everything really was just 'Satoko did it'. Each of the VNs comes with a short description that usually tells the reader what the difficulty level of that VN is, if I was to ask Ryukishi anything, it would be how difficult would he rank Sotsugou? He couldn't think it was that difficult could he?
