I am very fucking conflicted when it comes to Touhou.

The main thing I love about Touhou is the universe itself, including the characters, the setting, the societies, the interactions, all of it. So naturally, I took a liking to reading all of the shit by ZUN (well, except SSiB, admittedly...), going through the scripts, reading the spellcard information, and just going through all the tiny details that inspired ZUN to make the characters the way they are. In before, "lol, ZUN characters are shit, characters are useless in-game, porn only." Well, of course, I played the games too. However, I never really played to score higher or anything, I merely played for completion, and because I found them fun. Needless to say, I beat all the games on normal, and pretty much left it at that. I much prefer watching danmaku play out rather than actually taking control myself.

However, the main conflict is that if I were ever to meet ZUN, and I were to begin grovelling at his feet, he'd ask, "How important are the games to you?"

FUCK. Of course, it's very fucking important to me, seeing as it's pretty much the basis for half the things in Gensokyo. All the dialogue allows me to form more ideas about the characters, the events in the games are all added to a part of Gensokyo, spell cards just plain fascinate me in design, and the music is just plain charming. I have all these ideas that I'd want to share with ZUN, how some things I have a hard time believing in Bohemian Archive, or maybe something to better fill in Medicine's role in Gensokyo and her interaction with the human village. However, when he asks that dreaded question, all I'll have to show for it is me beating it on normal. And ZUN will kick me in the face for it. I'll lay down in the dirt, and cry the most bitter tears ever shed.
