Use route support. Boss support and sparkling are optional but both help.

As for setup use red/yellow/secondary HA/air radar or AA director on each CA, and full A/S on Yuubari.

Assuming you're referring to chuuha before boss, then double line. But if the same thing happened to Tenryuu you can forget about getting S rank if the enemy sub appears. At least the chance is still there with Yuubari.

I'm not so scared of air battle because it's just a normal Wo.
