You've been drifting through life aimlessly, when circumstances align and you find yourself with a new job. It's just as a night shift shelf-stocker at the local store. The store is deserted, so you don't have to interact with customers. You don't even have to work a cash register. It's just opening boxes and putting things on shelves. You can do that.
Several months into your new job, you've gained a new appreciation for the people that work behind-the-scenes of society. The unthanked, but necessary people who keep things running for minimum wage. You've also notices a few... oddities. The backroom is a maze of boxes, pallets, and stacks of goods. It also seems to rearrange itself at odd times. At first you thought it was your co-workers, or maybe the day-shift employees just moving stuff around - then you covered a shift by yourself, and noticed the same phenomenon.
There was also a couple who used to flirt around a lot, and fooled around in the back room, until some boxes toppled over. OSHA got involved, somebody got fired, it was a whole big thing. But people said they were pushed over by somebody - but all the employees were accounted for at the time.
Your co-workers joke that it's haunted, but you figured it was just night-timer humor, everything is creepier at night, yadda yadda. Part of that is the mysterious leak. Boxes will turn up damp, or product water-damaged, but there's no signs of a ceiling drip, or faulty plumbing. Finally, you've been hearing... things. Like heavy breathing, every time you go back there. Like right now.

What's been lurking in the back of your local grocery store?
Will you be quitting, or aim to be promoted to night-shift manager to protect her?
