Kasen's character is heavily defined by the overarching deceit of it all. Her hermetic lifestyle is a mask she uses to conceal her true intentions, and her lack of deep understanding of said lifestyle points to an element of hypocrisy, even. Despite being a member of a race who is truthful to a fault, she exists as this two-faced oni trapped between her true and manufactured identity.
Eiki, in contrast, presents herself more earnestly than any other hu, and is saintly to a fault. Her only real flaw, if any, is that she cares for the well being of others too much and this manifests as lectures. She is about as honest and earnest in her intentions as they come, and there's nothing to suggest that she believes in anything less than the absolute sanctity and just nature of her organization. My prior post, though exaggerated, was not as far from canonical interpretation as one may think.
