this is really bad advice for a beginner. you need to learn the proper strokes slowly before you speed up. there's nothing wrong with tracing characters at first then moving on. you need to get a feel for the right way to do it. my handwriting isn't that good but im sure it's better than almost everyone's here so im considering myself an authority.
