/vg/ have containment threads for specific game series, and usually have an OP with compiled latest info or introducing what the fuck that thread is about. Since /vg/ threads are more specific and less random than /v/, that board doesn't wojaks or /vpol/ problems as rampant as /v/, but it's a breeding ground for more faggy posts and circle jerking. How cancerous a general is depends on the size of the series and its fanbase though, some of the more niche generals are actually pretty comfy.
