There's 2 things you don't get though.

1. That is "your" definition. Which means that, for you, a group that has the exact same sound as a sakamichii group, but is not under a major label, will be considerd alt. But a group like Sora tob Sakana or Toricago are not because they are signed to major labels. You will find that a lot of other people will disagree with that though. Which comes back to the fact that the term is, once again, retarded, because different people define it differently.

2. Since you have this preconceived notion of something that you "think" is alt idol, you see the thread called /alt/ and you assume it's a thread for what "you" think is alt idol. When in reality, the definition of the /alt/ thread is pretty simple. It's the thread for all idols without a general. That's it. It's not for a "musical genre" or a "movement". As simple as that. It could be called /other idol/, /general idol/ or something else. But it's not. However, it's clear it is for what it is.

So yes. Stop pretending alt idol is a thing, it's not. And start understanding what the "alternative idol" thread is, since it's a definition my 6yo brother would get after explaining a couple of times. It's not that hard, anon.
