Anastasia is a Russian-Japanese hafu from Idolmaster who has the habit of pausing for like a half second between every three words she says. As a depiction of a non-native Japanese speaker it stands out a little bit from the "standard" anime gaijin accent that involves just throwing stressors all over the place but it couldn't help but give me the impression that she's just kind of slow sometimes. Well, it used to. Listening to it again I award her Japanese five out of five stars.

I feel like at some point I just completely stopped trying to make my Japanese sound even remotely natural, just so it could serve as an eternal reminder to the person on the other side of the phone that the person she was talking to was an illiterate gaijin.
