Thanks for the links, that's a bit beyond my level at the moment but I'll tuck it away in case it comes up.
Luckily(?), the problem is dumber than that and has to do with how characters are spaced rather than missing anything fancy in the rendering pipeline.
Everything being the exact same besides the comma at the end, standard C# text rendering decides to mix things up, leading to pic related.
I've got a workaround in place, but stuff like that's been what I've been dealing with the past week or so, putting in stopgaps and trying a bunch of attempts at real solutions.
