Maite wa Ikenai Rozen Maiden is basically that, though none of it but the oneshot chapter is translated. I have raws for it and honestly it looks funny as shit.

I can't say though that a new continuity focusing on comedy would be a good idea. Rozen Maiden is built for storytelling and I'd hate to see these characters flanderized any more than they already are. I like me some haha funny doll moments every now and then but there is so much wasted potential in these characters and I'd like to see it explored more. I want to finally see Gin post-character development, Kanaria to finally be plot-relevant, Suiseiseki to stop being a one-note tsundere stereotype, Souseiseki to not be tied to Suiseiseki so much and be her own character, Hina being used in more ways that aren't just being cutesy, and Kira given more development. Call it sacrilegious, but I cannot ignore the failings with the writing even as a fan who has had an unhealthy obsession with this series for nearly a solid decade. Rozen Maiden has too much baggage to make it as a comedy series and what it really needs is to do is go back to its roots and do another story that resonates with people.
This is mostly just me bitching about the main manga, though.
