Given this turn of events, to what degree can /jp/'s gay streak be held responsible for "tranime"? At worst, we unintentionally provided some fuel for shills to burn. The people behind the current push are not /jp/ers, nor are they derived from /jp/ers. Most shills cannot be bothered to be historically correct or do any research, even when it would prop up their talking points - notice how despite their constant appeals to oldfags that "4chan wasn't always racist," they almost never actually go back to archives and pull up dirt on us acting like homos, or refer to the various gay memes that actually existed. This further reinforces the position that elements pushing the tranime narrative are not native to 4chan.

One last semi related thing, I've grown bored of sticking to one board and been doing a lot crossboarding lately, and one interesting thing I came across is the following series of essays which were being shilled by someone in /int/'s Japanese thread (quite possibly the author himself): https://kakuyomu.jp/works/16816927860040342257 These are written from the point of view of a Japanese "trap" who is politically aligned against globohomo, and are a very good read for anyone who knows Japanese and is interested in the subject. The first few chapters are rock solid - he loses some credibility when he starts going into the history between Christianity and homosexuality in the West, managing to ignore a pretty big... er, elephant in the room so to speak, when talking about the rise of the LGBT movement in America. But as he's a Japanese writing for other Japanese about the influence of the movement on Japan, I suppose this is to be expected. Overall it's a very solid take that shows first hand how Western leftism is gearing up to wreck havoc on otaku culture from within Japan, and restores some refreshing positive light on traps who, like >>39405180 says, have had it pretty hard since the "tranny hate obsession" kicked in. I feel like the gay memes of old /jp/ come from a similar place as this author.
