I used to consider all-kana text an unbelievable travesty and an absolute pain to read, but now that I actually know Japanese comfortably - that is, having studied for nearly four years and casually watch TV shows without subs - my past struggling seems laughable. Kana-only is just as easy to read as kanji text, at least when the text isn't extremely high level economical or philosophical stuff, which isn't what you'll find in most games anyway. This isn't a life-changing revelation but I'm sure as hell gonna smirk whenever I see people commenting on kana-only text being a pain from now on.
