Hana tried yelling for help but her own voice was blocked by the lack of air, terror soon set in as her body clenched and her hands fruitlessly grasped at the air. It didn’t take long till she heard stomping coming down the way and with relief filling her she saw her father burst in through the door.

He shouted her name and she tried reaching out for him to no avail, Hana had no clue what was going on as her father scooped her. The spells seeming to only restrain her own movements, and now that the light was streaming in she could make out a purple colored ink-like magical script engraved onto her wrists.

Hana tried to choke out that she needed help but there was simply no air to do so, she couldn’t even cling to her father. All she could do is watch through blurry eyes as his own filled with tears, he raised his head tearing his gaze from Hana as the world was starting to go dark.

With a shout of pure desperation, he announced to the air, “I’ll do it! I’ll do it! For the love of the gods Yukari don’t do it!”

The world was fading in blotches as her vision failed and soon, she couldn’t even find the strength to struggle against her restraints. She didn’t feel powerless nor terror, both of those sensations were leaving her as she heard only her father’s voice yell out again, “Please! Please don’t do this to me! Not Hana, not my girl!”

Just as the last of the light was to leave her world and her consciousness vanished the pressure in her esophagus faded. With a jerking gasp she inhaled the sweet air into her burning lungs, the world felt alive again as she coughed and greedily gobbled the air trying to make up for lost time.

Her father held her in her arms, rocking her like she was a child again, it comforted her as for a second she felt like things might be all right. Her arms were still bound and as her lightheaded mind struggled to recover, she could hear him whisper words of apology as he nuzzled her neck. What was he sorry for?

As if she was an animal, she felt a terrifying presence enter the room and caused her to stiffen up with the hair on the back of her neck standing on end, how she wished she could cling to her father back… Like an oncoming storm it was impossible to ignore, her father felt it too and pried his face away from Hana. Hana felt the chill replace his warmth as she too turned her head to Yukari, her footsteps only now heard after her presence was.

Yukari was wearing her purple dress, the occasional ribbon was disturbed from their usual perfect place and the dress itself had a thin tear under the breast with a small blood stain staining the edges of it. Though it was clear that there was no longer a wound underneath from how she strolled in.

Sporting a wicked grin her tone was like ice despite it outwardly sounding warm, “Hana darling, I’m so happy you came to visit. Though I must say that you should come in through the front door instead, sneaking around hardly suits you~”

Anon didn’t say anything as he stared daggers into her, oh if only looks could kill. Yukari ignored him as she stared directly into her eyes, “You snuck in so efficiently, so I must commend you on that. Though I must say that if it was not for my generosity, you would have run yourself afoul of some of my less elegant traps.”

What did this woman mean… Nobody saw her right? Wasn’t she careful? Hana was about to open her mouth to speak before she was cut off, “Now now, I see that confusion on your face Hana-chan and I will be kind enough to inform you that I knew you were skulking about the moment you walked in” Yukari giggled at her shock, “And what were those strange movements of yours? Did you manifest an ability while I wasn’t looking? They are most interesting, but there is not much special about once know the equations behind it”

Clutching Hana’s prone form tighter as if to shield her Anon spoke, “It’ll never happen again Yukari, she’ll never do such a thing again so please. Spare her!”

Tutting as she extended her fan and covered her face she spoke again, all traces of that levity and warmth gone with the dark as she flicked the light switch on, her voice was nothing but frigid ice, “After that brutish display you used to spurn at my offer of peace you dare to think you are in a position to broker?”

Feeling her wrath hidden under the surface Hana cowered inwardly, she didn’t dare to speak in this moment, “Fortunately for you, I have need of you and your daughter to be healthy and happy. You think I am a liar for telling you the truth, you think that I am some cruel tyrant; both are fine with me. For your actions you will both be punished and advance my plans to mend your damaged family in one go.”

Snapping her fan closed she commanded her father, “Strip”
