That's kind of the point, even she herself agrees with this. 'Beatrice' is her ideal, a LARP, while the real girl is an utterly pathetic, abandoned loser, waiting for her prince who will never come.
But imo having five episodes with the iconic 'evil' Beatrice, and one or two depicting her true self isn't that big of a deal. The character arc itself is done perfectly, even if you don't end up liking the person behind the mask.
Just Claire is kind of redundant.
