Started Gal Mahjong a few days ago and it seems pretty good so far. Tiles are still small but you get to see the entire table on the upper screen and not just the discards like some DS games do. Also the game starts out somewhat like a VN. You inherited(or were just sent there) an island resort from your grandpa and, I'm not sure if I got this right, the 5 in game girls seemed to have lost to him at mahjan so he had them come to the resort with/for you. Sorry about the vague description but my japanese is not that great and that's prety much what I understood from the beginning.

Anyway and the deal is you choose one girl (other two opponents willl be random) and she will be the one who sits in front of you, and a location on the map. After, you obviously play mahjan and each game brings you points, that can be used later to buy the girls swimsuits. Also after the match you get a mini game with the girl you chose at the beginning. Finish the game and you go back to the map where you can try another location or buy/equip swimsuits for her.

Well that's all I have for you so far since I only just started the game myself.
