It was looking to be an incredibly slow sort of day. It wasn't as if I wasn't perfectly content to lie around and hug Yamame and Reimu for the most part, but I did wonder just what else we were supposed to be doing. I also wasn't sure how long I'd been lying around already, but my shoulder had stopped throbbing after some time and settled into a dull ache, but even that was slowly starting to fade. A nice new scar. If any children in the village ever asked me what it was from, I'd scare the living daylights out of them, and I wouldn't even have to make anything up. 'An oni bit me to prove a point' sounded scary enough. And then, they'd be in for more of a shock if I ever explained any of the other scars. 'Nearly eaten by a youkai', for one, and 'burnt by divine flames', as well. They'd probably assume I was lying just from the sheer improbability. I'd have to double check, because I probably had even more scars than that, which I was failing to remember.

And then Yamame woke up, and she sounded absolutely awful. "Urgh..." She moaned, pressing her head against my chest. "Kill me. Right now." She raised her bleary eyes, and I asked her how she was feeling. "Head. Pain." That was probably the hangover kicking in. "You think?" She growled, looking like she was indeed considering murdering me.

She tried dragging her hands up to press them against her head, only to find them stuck. "What's..." She awkwardly angled her head back, letting out a hiss of pain as she did so. "Why...is Reimu Hakurei hugging me?" There was a little nervousness to her voice, but it was mostly buried in pain and annoyance. "She's not gonna take it as an attack if I try and push her arms away, is she? I frowned and asked her why she would do that. "Well, I don't know! She's got weird freaky sleep danmaku pow - Argh..." She squeezed her eyes shut again. "Why did I drink that much? Why did you let me - Hang on." She paused, then looked up at me with narrowed eyes. "Why don't you look like death?" I shrugged and said that it was probably something to do with the peach. "That's it? Something to do with the peach?" She forced herself up slightly and went to punch me in the chest, and as I raised my hands in self-defence, she froze. "Wait, what's..." Her hand reached out, toward my shoulder. My freshly bitten shoulder.

"Uh." Yamame paused. "Hold on." And then she violently threw herself out of bed, her clothing completely askew and her hair halfway out of its usual style, leaving her ribbon loose and floppy. It would have been very cute if it wasn't abundantly clear that the hangover was about to wreak havoc. She looked at me helplessly, and I told her to leave the room, go down the corridor to the right, turn left, and it would be the first door on the left. "Oh, I love you!" She cried in relief, bursting out of the door and disappearing from sight.

Leaving me frozen and vacantly staring at the space she had just occupied.

"I'm going to kill someone." I heard muttered from next to me, but I didn't manage to look. "Probably you. Then someone else for good measure." It was Reimu, and she sounded about as wiped out as Yamame had. "Are you, uh, well? You look even more vacant than usual." I mumbled something incoherent. "What? what are you..." Reimu then trailed off too. "Wait, but Kurodani...She - She said..." I managed to shift my head to look at Reimu, who was leaning with her elbow against the bed and looking back at me with the same realisation. "...Oh." Her eyes were widening. "Was that...?" First time. "Huh." Reimu slowly shifted onto her back. "Um, well...Congratulations?" I tried to speak again and ask Reimu what she was thinking, but my voice cracked in the middle of it. "Calm down." Reimu told me. "I can't claim to know the answer to everything, but it's not the end of the world because someone said they love you." I mumbled an agreement and fell back to the bed on my back, next to Reimu. My mind started to clear up again after a few minutes, and I asked Reimu why she wasn't rushing off to the bathroom. "Oh, er...I'm just used to it. Not the first time I've drank oni sake. Not even the first time recently. I do have a killer headache, though, and I would dearly like to punch something, so do me a favour and shut up."
