Thinking is lame and just distracts from the enjoyment of reading. Being obsessed with truth just makes you like Erika, unhappy and insecure. The optimal way of reading mystery novels is with no thinking at all for the first read and if you'd like to you can try to increase the size of your brain by thinking about it on the second read, after you can no longer spoil your initial experience with it.
