I think the pubs from best to worst is actually BRD, WIZ, DOS. All of the factions have the potential for really bad teams if you get enough circle ranks joining though. I'm basing this mostly off of epoch war results, I don't think DOS has ever won both their offense and defense in the final phase of beta testing.

I saw one guy in roads clan who put an eight vulcan on his destructor. You can melt land units who get too close easily with that, or if you don't mind making people really mad just throw on a flame thrower though it limits your fire power.
