Shouldn't have entered the thread if you hadn't finished Umineko
Now you will get spoiled on the fact that the Sayo thing was a fake spoiler and Gohda was behind it all

Honestly, it is a shame that we do have a definitive answer. For me, the funnest part of the novel was treating it as a game, the battle between the reader and the author. I would spend weeks and weeks trying to come up with an answer to the puzzles, trying to figure out the story surrounding Beatrice, pondering on the themes, and yet I'd still come up short. Scouring through the 2k+ lines on my notepad file was really dizzying, but at the same time it was undoubtedly the most fun I have had in any medium to date. All the discussion that I had with other people is still a very fond memory to me. Nothing really compares to that frenzy in the years since my first read.

However, now that we have the manga with all of the answers, there really is no point to trying anymore. When I realized where the manga was heading, I felt as if some sort of trust was broken between me and Ryukishi07. It was as if he put down the ban hammer on fun and creativity. Another problem is that all newcomers would just stop thinking because they know that there are solutions at the back of the book and would be tempted by it. They will never be able to experience the amount of fun that I had because of the fact that the answer exists. Even for those that try not to look at the solutions, if that newcomer were to theorize and discuss it with other people, they would just be shown pages of the manga in return. No speculation, no theories, no fun allowed; just go read the manga. The people showing the manga don't even try to entertain the idea of the theory or speculation as being a possibility, because in their heads there CAN'T be any; after all, "The Book of Single Truth" as you put it exists. It really is a shame and I sympathize somewhat with what you're getting at. At the very, very least, you Rosatrice faggots make these threads lively. It's nice seeing differing opinions no matter how wrong they may be.

Couldn't Kumasawa be the killer? After all, no one else was able to witness if she was handing over a bar of soap or depositing her knife into Jessica's back.

Assuming that she really did hand the soap, would anything be stopping the killer from removed or altered in anyway. Hence, the weapon could be concealed in any bar of soap.
I'd say that it's a suicide. Jessica was the one to remove her bar of soap, and hid a knife inside the bar of soap on the desk.
As soon as she received it from Kumasawa, she removed the weapon and stabbed herself in the back. If she couldn't reach, there's no reason why she wouldn't be able to prop it against the wall in some fashion.

>I based the premise of this game on an interview Ryu-chan once gave where he said he meant for Gohda and Natsuhi to have an affair in one of his earlier drafts, but he ended up not using the idea.

Yeah, once you said Gohda killed Krauss out of love for Natsuhi I figured that's what you were going for.

Though honestly, I can see why Ryukishi decided to drop that idea. It just seems so out of character for someone like Natsuhi to cheat on her husband, since it would mean betraying the Ushiromiya family she worships so much. Still, it was a fun game. My favorite trick was definitely the body switch with Nanjo, though it seems a bit strange that nobody would recognize him based on his physique.

Bern) “Lambda. What kind of farce is this? The preparations for dinner have already been finished, and we’re ready to serve the Hors d'oeuvre’s.”

Lambda) “Sorry Bern. You’ll have to put it under a heat lamp. Isn’t that right, Toshiro Gohda?”

Gohda) “Yes. My apologies for making you wait, Erika-sama, Bernkastel-sama. Now it’s time for my meal.”

Lambda) “Request for a meal change accepted. The kitchen of witches retracts the menu for tonight’s dinner.”

Bern) “O, objection! The food has already been made, and the menu has even been announced to the guests!”

Lambda) “Objection overruled!! All leftovers are overshadowed by fresh dishes!!”

Bern) “Objection!! Not only has Gohda been banished from the kitchen, he also doesn’t hold the rank of Chef de cuisine! He isn’t qualified to create a new menu!”

Lambda) “Objection overruled!! He already has that. By the name of Lambdadelta, Witch of Culinary, I acknowledge it! Toshiro Gohda! I acknowledge you as the new Golden Chef, no, as the new Endless Cook!!!”
