Definitely is. Look at those perfect crescent ears and that masculine engilsh-stock potato nose. Awesome find (you should add it to his wikipedia page).

>you will never be a strong jawed, burly turn of the century white man with a big ass uncircumcised penis like Andrew Loomis, living in what was then the greatest country on earth

First of all thank you for at least putting an offer out there. I'm willing to entertain the idea of $50 an hour, but it's definitely a lot. To put it in perspective, if I were to hypothetically be paying you for 40 hours a week that would be about $100,000 a year, double the median wage for people in my country, about four times my own wage and 10 times what a Japanese animator makes. I was expecting to pay maybe half that. At that rate I'd only be able to pay for two or three hours a week before I'd be tapped out, so I would certainly expect a top shelf nigga by any standard.

I think it's worth reiterating that with me as a client it's not going to be a one-off. Whoever I hire I intend to commission at least bi-weekly for quite some time, probably over a year.

>I'm not a great artist by any stretch

Don't sell yourself short, you should always let the client be the judge of that, family man. Post your work here or send an email to propanestyle@gmail.com along with estimates. I'll definitely tell you whether your work is worth $50 an hour to me or not.

I am circumcised. I have and never will feel sexual pleasure despite having "sex". Over time my physical desire for sexual contact and even other unrelated pleasure has become dulled to the point of almost being nonexistent. I have no real imagination, I can't draw the simplest things despite years of fairly intensive study. I am only able to apply what I've learned through rote memorization. There is no joy in me, no appreciation for pleasure or ability to share pleasure with others, and it shows in the lifeless, ugly and always rudimentary art I create.

You're 100% right OP. At least about me. I hope you're happy, OP. I hope everyone's happy because I am not likely to ever be.

I've recently made the switch from paper to digital, and I really don't understand a lot of photoshop things. The most annoying one for me is that photoshop's brushes will never pick the same color I want them to pick. If I want to go red, I have to go through the same area exactly three times to get the same red I've picked or I will just get different shades of pink, which is extremely annoying. I've tried both with and without pen pressure (which I assumed anyway was not the problem, because even with the strongest pen pressure I can apply, the result is always pink), and even the mouse that should not even have pen pressure makes my colors fucked up just like with a tablet, so I know the tablet is not the problem.
Second, I find moving around photoshop pretty annoying and slow, it's not something as immediate as it was when I was drawing on paper. Is there some list of some essential shortcuts I should learn before starting? Also, is there a way to create layers without photoshop asking me about a name? That's pretty much the only shortcut I've memorized so far but it's still annoying and kind of a time waste because it asks me a name, which have been useful sometimes but more often than not I don't have to use a name. I know layer via copy doesn't do this but I would rather have a whole new layer.
Also, is there a way to rotate the paper on photoshop? This is by far the biggest thing I'm missing since I've made the switch, it would help my linework a lot.
Thanks in advance for the help. I would like to hear if you guys have any kind of general tips for complete digital beginners to get started on photoshop, I feel so lost here, I feel like I'm using only 1/16th of what it's capable of.

>Really want to get into drawing
>Start practicing and studying
>A couple of months pass, feel like hitting a block, depression kicks in, give up
>Some time later feel like giving it a try again, go back into it at full force, drawing becomes fun again
>Hit a block again, same thing happens, give up
>Mfw I've been doing this for the past three years, during which I've made minimal progress, if any at all
How do you feel the motivation to keep trying? I try to give myself the smallest objectives and not aim too high, but it's not working anymore, I feel like I'm really on the verge of finally giving up forever, the only thing stopping me is the thought of having pretty much wasted almost three years since I would spend 16 hours a day drawing, but I've lost any hope of ever getting better, I've seen complete beginners do better than me and I'm positive they didn't even touch Loomis or Hampton at all like I did, this is getting extremely demoralizing, maybe drawing was just never meant for me.
I'm 100% sure I'm not the only one who went through this at least once, either beginners, veterans artists or people like me who gave up already. What gives you motivation and the will to continue? What are your ambitions for the future?
