Is it worth paying for professional critique?
I don't want to be /beg/ forever

For a portfolio review when you're getting ready to get an art job? Sure.
Just to review your artwork when you're starting out or still relatively amateur? No.
If you're a beg, it'd be better to just join an art discord and look for advice there or something.

If you're learning on your own, and never reached proficiency (high-int/low-mastery) in any other domain, yes most definitely. Coaching might be better than punctual critique (meaning, having someone to guide you from beginning to end).

People underestimate the difficulty on self-learning AND the difficulty of learning art.

Besides, critique/tutoring or not, make sure you work hard and plenty, for that's the real thing that will determine success/failure.

Anons here are too high on the "just draw" meme.

Coaching is such a hart thing to get online.
Any people qualified to coach will be pricey and probably selling catch-all online courses because of high demand.

Fuck you spoiled urbanite faggots, my countryside medieval city doesn't even have fast food chains. It had one (1) music shop that closed last year.

Wish I had an art buddy with aligned interests and complementary skills to mine.

it looks attention whore-like if post your work within spitting distance of a "just draw" post

Fixed your bad grammar.

If you're already paying why not pay for an actual art teacher?
