So what is your roadblock?
What did your art look like before learning about techniques like construction? You can't tell me you haven't improved at all, because these don't look terrible to me. Just looks to me you need more practice, otherwise you're doing the right things.
Have you tried making finished art or is it just sketches? Have you tried a medium like ink to practice line art?

Okay I'm asking you to calm down and consider this: It's normal for the development of artistic skill to take YEARS and not just 6 months. To me, it seems you have quickly internalized the teachings from Loomis and similar resources (on the level of principles) you can't be completely stupid. But you need to have realistic expectations when it comes to actual mastery of arts.
I'm also a programmer and I can say nothing in programming takes as much grinding to learn as drawing. In programming you learn about a principles and can start immediately applying it once you've understood. In art there are things like muscle memory involved, it's like learning to swing a katana or some shit, a lot of it just comes from thousands of hours of practice and can't be communicated in words.

If you think it takes too long and isn't worth your time that's okay too. Maybe get into another hobby or focus on programming. You've already learned a skill here that you can use to impress normies with! It's not a total loss.

So in massage therapy I learned about this controversial method of diagnosing (which you're not supposed to do) the problems in a client.

1) have the client move the limb on their own
2) have the massage therapist move the limb with no effort from the client
3) Have the client generate resistance while the massage therapist moves the limb
4) Massage the soft tissues that you believe to be causing the pain/problem/knot and use your expertise
to alleviate the problem in a way that causes as little pain and discomfort for the client.

There is what's called a power differential in massage therapy, the nude client TRUSTS that you, the clothed massage therapist, will alleviate the pain they have and will not abuse the trust to do lewd things.

True story, I was referencing an artwork by Fellatrix for a drawthread request on /v/ and decided to send them a message on pixiv as a heads up.

What I got in return was a lot better than what I expected, (no reply) actual answers to my questions and some positive feedback.

Sometimes you luck out and remember, there's people behind all that glam, and if you're polite and modest and honest, they will help you.

My fiancee is an artist, and all I want to do is be able to spend time with her doing something we both enjoy.
