To get a shoutout from sakimichan, i'm using most of my money from commissions for her patreon, I've been sending one message a week on her discord to try and get shoutout

Finish comic, make new comics, figure out how to post on reddit, do digital.

I might try to do certain activities on certain days of the week. I’m just aimlessly drawing what i want whenever i want. It’s like the Wild West, and I feel myself slipping away without any structure.

Same as last year, I'm still beg as fuck so my current goals haven't been reached yet
>What are your plans for making it happen?
I've made some sort of plan that I'll go over in order to learn the fundies I need (figure drawing and gesture at the moment, working with Hampton's book) and try to draw what I actually want.

Earn $55,0000 for the year, update my IG twice a week, continuing to learn After Effects, land more illustration and motion graphics jobs, invest savings
>What are your plans for making it happen?
Create a backlog of fast but appealing drawings I can share on IG when I don't have much else to share.
Keep on doing my paid AE courses, finish them by the end of March
Finish new motion personal works with newfound skills for updated portfolio - also by the end of March.
Recreate old (but popular) illustrations in newer style, update portfolio again
Reach out to old & new clients (5 a week), pitch illustration (and/or mograph stuff), take on better paying freelance projects

I want to get to a baseline level of competence. I only started drawing in July last year, and spent a while messing about without really knowing what I was doing or directing my attention very well. I mostly want to be able to do figures in perspective and passable stylised faces.

solidify my style and discipline myself enough to understanding anatomy and depth. Right now, I can't even figure out depth in a figure or object. all i can do with that sort of application is applying values to cubes and spheres.

To get out of /beg/ and be high /int/ at the very least. Also to make a 1 shot passion comic. Just 24 pages.

Didn't wish for anything more. I know I will fail if I set the bar too high.

>> No.5127988

I want to solidify my understanding of anatomy and perspective. I'm thinking of signing up for a 2 month class in my city here soon. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember but I was never taught the fundamentals and now its hurting me. So this year is to that!

More specifically I want to go from 0 skill to drawing things I can feel even slightly proud about
So I'll learn my fundamentals starting with perspective and going through anatomy and gesture to like, lighting and shit then I'll just draw

Finish the concept art for a comic and start it, keep progressing elsewhere too,

and there’s this animation I partially made but I just can’t bring myself to finish it (motivation/feeling of low reward for too much work) which I may eventually do, fuckin hell

Hey bub, go by something like this instead, this will give you a better roadmap for building your drawing skills

>> No.5132308

Art learning never works as a solid plan, you have to adapt and change your plan to maximize efficiency based on things you learned per lesson. Also to properly manage factors in both your life and art practice such as recently discovered weaknesses. The art field is very vast and very sandboxy, you can approach it multiple ways and get positive and negative results depending on the order of your lessons.
Nonetheless, you can learn from other people's plan and make your own then adapt it to yours.
The simplest advice is to just mindfully study and practice. Be in the moment

Hey bub, don’t worry about me, I know how to work for myself in my art, only posted to give anon some ideas about concepts and a semblance of a drawing plan to go ahead with instead of that real shoddy plan he’d posted, ie perspective, drawing techniques, proportions, etc

>> No.5132532

i have an idea for a wimmelbilder that i want to take from concept to finished

i'm going to work in tiny units, kind of like the connected map thread, and work a tile at a time. but before i even get to that stage, i am going to make a few smaller prototypes.
