Your drawing is pretty decent. You definitely know how to put together a good color scheme. However you should have probably drawn the face a bit bigger. As it is his head is quite wide and his face is rather small.

Try using a bit more variation in the size of your brush in the parts with more details (After you've laid the groundwork of course) and try to refine some parts of the subject a bit. Particularly those with small details. For example, in the first two beetles, at least oone or two legs could use a bit more work, the carapaces could also have smoother rendering in some spots. Also, cleaning up the outer edge of it could give a more concise look.

Same thing applies for the hornet. You could work more to refine the antenna and wings. The body could use a tad more care too.
It looks you're doing well though, just try to push your studies a bit harder to refine them.

okay, admittedly, if youve reached peak burnout or you think youre approaching it, then taking a break can probably be helpful. focusing on other things for a while can also mean that you'll be able to look at your work differently when you get back to it, and you might even improve when you're back.

but if you'd like to keep drawing at the moment, then really, it's probably easiest to focus on the sense of reward that some aspect of art grants you, and set achievable goals in your mind so that you can reach said awards more easily.

Michael hamptons book (figure drawing design and invention) is good for simplifying anatomy into understandable shapes, Steve Huston has good video courses (on nma) and a good book on figure drawing and simplifying (called make every line count i think)
the book "Anatomy for sculptors' by Uldis Zarins is amazing at working out problem areas in your drawing/ knowledge and perfect for when you're wondering what something looks like

But Unfortunatly they dont explicitly explain how to draw from imagination and the best method for me is to simplifying into the most simplest of forms in order to put them into perspective and further expanding on that.
I would also recommend reading these books and not neccessarily just using them as reference when drawing

The first barrier is that you need a decent gpu which can be a problem with laptops as they will usually give you an integrated gpu that won't cut it. Certain rendering programs require certain brands. Like octane requires that you must have a nvidia GPU. Certain cracks require that you have a specific GPU down to the version number (because programs don't come compatible with gpus, they have to be updated for it so old cracks require you to use old gpus. For example, for Octane 3.07 crack you must have a 1000x series nvidia GPU as newer ones won't work and with Redshift cracked you must have those old gpus unless you want watermarks because it's a partial crack.)

Certain programs are dangerous cracked. For example, Autodesk Solidworks will get you in legal hotwater fast unless you firewall.

Furthermore, a lot of 3D programs are incredibly expensive (like a couple thousand dollars expensive), aren't cracked or have veerrry unreliable cracks and tend to crash frequently or they have actual malware in it. People also prefer to sell paid for cracked services like Octane rather than giving it to you for free.

The second barrier is that 3D is often boring and confusing and that certain people such as flippednormals will ramble on and on about bullshit like how much they love keyboard shortcuts instead of what everyone's actually here for (modelling) and so finding a good instructor is essential. And worse than that, sometimes they don't cover what's useful so I have to find yet another course which is yet more hours down the drain so it helps to read what other people think about the course before torrenting or downloading one.

It's not like in 2D where if I learn one program like PS I can learn pretty much every program very quickly. Every program has different keybinds, viewport navigation, weird ass functions etc... Just like with 2D programs, different programs can do similar things but it can be incredibly painful to try and do certain things in certain programs. For example, I've just realise that Maya doesn't come with a built in radial symmetry.. Yeeepp...

Generally, there appears to be no no cross compatibility between programs, there is no unified "psd" format that multiple programs can open so you can switch between programs very easily. But you can export your work and have others open it but you won't be able to change things easily like you can with, say, a psd. It's the equivalent of getting to open up a png in another program instead of a psd because things get kinda locked down.

cgpeers is the best source and is in fact the only source most of the time.
The Chinese have Octane 4 cracked but are charging money for it on a subscription basis because they've probably got some kind of server setup to make the cracked program use their cracked license server.
If you've been looking at the uploads, please note that the only renderers that are regularly cracked are Arnold, V-Ray and Keyshot so if you want to learn a renderer those are probably the best options that you'll get.

the student license isn't perpetual unfortunately :/ I think vray gives the most similar results to octane but it requires a LOT of setup. Keyshot's more for product stuff and Arnold is too slow I think for most people without uber powerful machines. But Arnold comes built into Maya and I think Arnold's the industry standard, VRay is kinda there (and getting a bit old because ChaosGroup is working on Corona which is supposed to be easier to use) and Keyshot is mostly used for rendering products. Keyshot is super easy to use but it can't do a lot of basic shit, it seems, like render oceans in a non shit way.

Yup, you'd definitely want to decide what team you're on before buying courses (especially because the renderers themselves can be expensive/crackless)

Basically, the way 3D works is this. You've got your 3d program you're modelling in and the renderer renders it while you model or afterwards so you can preview it.

That's why a lot of torrents are plugins. Each plugin is usually for specific versions of the program. This is why you'll almost always see people asking if the plugin works for so and so. Now you can just imagine how much of a pain it is if future renderers aren't cracked. Not only might you not be able to use your shiny new gpu and get speed etc improvements... But you might also not be able to update your main 3D program because you wouldn't be able to use the renderer in the updates program if you aren't using the built in one. Usually programs come with their own renderer but generally that one's a bit shit which is where arnold/vray etc come in.

If you want to use a standalone renderer you'll need to export your scene and open it and preview it in the renderer whereas if you have an epic plugin it will generally just render in the window. Some renderers don't have standalones

Yes. Reddit doesn't have an algorithm (whoever gets upvoted the most basically ends up the highest for a period of time) so pick a fandom that is OC friendly.

Do your art and polish the quality as high as it will go. Post your art on reddit and put your twitter at the bottom. I can maintain the front page on a subreddit for a day but I really struggle to get seen on twitter so it works for me. But I only feel confident enough to do that for stuff that I'm in a fandom in and have a feel for how strict the reddit is because maybe someone will ask you a question or comment something and you might not know how to respond if you aren't in the fandom. I also post things pretty rarely since I think some subreddits don't like it if you flood the whole reddit with your fanart.

If you're not in a fandom getting seen is much harder.

In all seriousness I'm not sure, I don't own the server I just promote the event. I personally don't care and I don't necessarily think the others do either.

Even if I think something is disgusting as fuck-and believe me there's plenty of stuff I do-I'm not a pussy about it; I leave those kind of decisions up to the host, though. These days it's been made something of a liability issue and a lot of people don't necessarily want to be associated with certain things even by proxy so I don't necessarily blame people for being more defensive about it now than they may have been in the past.

You’re being willfully ignorant. Nobody said to post links on the site, but making challenges about courses (like proko). Even if it’s paid content nobody can deduce that everyone pirated the course to follow a challenge.

Secondly, the copyright holder would be the only person to issue a takedown notice. But there is nothing to take down if there are no links and nothing being shared. Again, anyone with room temperature IQ can see it’s just a safety net for future disbanding of 4ch.

I'm still going through /lit/'s top 100 books, I'm currently reading the Greek Mythology to be able to read Odyssey and The Iliad.
I've recently finished 1984, The Metamorphosis and I'm at the beginning of Thus Spoke Zarathustra.
They've inspired me to make a few sketches of ideas I get while reading them, I've also wrote some of them down.
I think everyone should try reading, it's a great inspiration source.

You use this method when there is nothing to rest your wrist or elbow on. Your shoulders are resting on your body all the time, so you don't need the extra surface. This is what you usually do when writing / drawing on a chalkboard or easel.
On an old intuos Pro M even if you draw with the elbow you can't really finish your move.

The last five books I read were an alternate history novel about Richard the III published in 1983, a homo romance between Captain Hook and Peter Pan, an anthologised murder mystery/horror story that ends in cannibalism and violently beating the main villain to death and a xianxia story with loads of gay.
