If you're going to be doing zbrush, I suggest using the program a lot first
1) The last time I checked, all zbrush cracked releases past 2019 are crash/glitch city thanks to the sheer amount of anti piracy so you may want to buy the program.
2) The last cracked renderers may be many years old so if you're doing 3D you may want to buy licenses of renderers instead like octane or redshift over a tablet
3) If you don't have a good gpu you may want to buy one over a tablet unless you are a masochist who enjoys waiting forever for renders

If you have $850ish, get yourself a cintiq 16 and an ergo arm or similar monitor arm mount. It’s a great device but holy fuck the neck and back pain. So if the whole point of this exercise is to get a more comfy drawing setup go all the way. If you have $650 + tax, you have another $150 to make it actually worthwhile. I’m of the mindset that if you’re drawing every day a few hours at a time, it’s worth the investment. I upgraded from an iPad so that’s the reference point I’m coming from.

Otherwise do what most other anons are saying, save yourself half a grand and get a nice screenless tablet and just be happy. And desu depending on what kind of art you make you might not even need a screen tablet, if you’re mostly a digital painter/sculptor you won’t gain as much from the extra precision and the feeling of contact as say, someone doing lots of lineart.

Enjoy your crash every half an hour with no autorecover saved then. This isn't like 2D where every program under the sun has a working flawless crack. Every 3D program either has 20 malware engines embedded in the crack, it hasn't been cracked in like 7 years or it crashes like hell. And let's not even start on certain programs that bypass firewalls and phone home causing interns and grads to make it, walk into the studio then get fired/blacklisted from the industry the next day or forced to pay a settlement.

3D/VFX cracked shit is scary as fuck with the degree to which they protect themselves. 2D is filled with poorfag cucks so there's a working flawless crack for everything under the sun and no danger whatsoever in using anything.

The fact that you think I'm a shill reflects exactly why you don't comprehend how bad/awful it is. You don't realise how assfucked every 3D software is right now.

Every Foundry software is a walking piece of spyware that can potentially get you blacklisted from the industry unless you pay up for all the years that you pirated. They know everything you've done. Their licenses cost thousands of dollars. If you want to crack this, you'll need an offline computer just for this. Including Modo unless you like to gamble.

Just like Foundry, Autodesk's Solidworks you can also expect to receive a fine and blacklist for if you pirate it. Luckily they don't outright fine and blacklist for Maya and Max, at least as far as I've heard. But it's obviously pozzed. Maya was recently updates to know if you are blocking ports with firewalls so you have to let it online. Use at your own risk. It's at least cracked by xforce so it's reasonably certain that it doesn't contain malware. But the latest version uploaded contains malware and the only two cracked renderers that work on the 2020 version are arnold and vray and both of them are totally shit. Arnold is slow as fuck and vray is basically the macdonalds of renderers. You'll likely be using old ass versions for plugins.

Zbrush crashes every fucking half an hour. Every update someone makes a new crack and it's always shit. Every version past 2018 is unstable as a fuck.

Cinema4D is always cracked. But it's reliant on addons and those haven't been cracked so you'll be using old ass versions.

Octane and Redshift will never be cracked. Octane hasn't been cracked for what feels like 7 years which means that unless you have an old ass gpu it won't work and the old version renders like shit. Want free legal Octane? Use Blender LOL. Redshift's last crack was 2.5x. 2.6x if you had an old ass gpu as everyone else gets watermarks.

3Dcoat is a popular malware target but you can patch it yourself. It's inferior to zbrush and Blender will soon be better.

Most people have given up and bought what they want. Even if you learn to use the programs, chances are you'll find out there's no tutorial explaining how to make what you want to make and the only tutorial that exists is for Blender

tl;dr just use Blender with EEVEE.
