My ability to critique art developed faster than my artistic skill. As a consequence, now everything I draw looks like total shit to me. Oh why oh why didn't I draw more as an innocent child who could tolerate the mistakes. How do I unlearn critique and go back to thinking stick men are good drawings?

have you tried improving your new found mistakes yet?

But bro, you are improving your art so you can get gains faster. The only way for you to go back is to improve further in your hand skill. AKA improve more till your eyes feel comfortable again.

I learned faster when I became more critical. Not worth a thread btw.

I think this must be true. I've had multiple times in the past where I've been like "holy shit this is great! I'm really becoming a good artist".
Now I look back at those drawings and laugh my ass off at how bad they are.
