CSP is singlethreaded and runs like shit

PS is boomercore with sod all key mapping flexibility.

Krita achieves almost everything from smooth responsive lineart to advanced painterly brushes, however it hasnt yet got a sai tier magic wand or blending engine

>> No.4913732

Feels good to draw animushit in, lightweight and smooth. But yeah, it's not for painerly looks though there's been slight improvements in that direction.

Yes. If you have a copy of it, open it up and try the transform tool out. See how it goes. Or just make any canvas over 2x2k, grab a brush with low spacing and a size of 300< and put a few strokes down. If you want a real headache, try one of the smudge tools at that size.

Krita and sai blow ass with anything 2k+ pixels so no thanks

>> No.4913982

>>4913971
Simply wrong. Krita will tank depending on the tool, albeit to a far lesser degree than CSP. Sai/Sai 2 can handle large files easily, however sai 1 suffers from being 32 bit so having many layers will tank your editing/overlay transformation. But using a large brush in Sais works absolutely fine.

>> No.4913992

>>4913971
Hearsay. Sai handles big canvases very well, especially compared to CSP or PS.
>>4913629
>CSP is singlethreaded and runs like shit
Well considering you use words like "boomercore" and that you're maining Krita, I'm guessing you used some sort of pirated version of CSP. In that case yes, the software becomes unreliable and slow.

I used the term boomercore because its actually an accurate term for Photoshop. Its capable enough, dont get me wrong, but its simply not the amazing gamewinner it used to be, and it hasnt developed accordingly. You cant even map your own key bindings. I posted on their forum about it and you get the usual "oh but you dont need to be able to do that, just work around it" crap, as if its a small price to pay to use the holy photoshop when simply superior art programs exist, for both free or with a single purchase. Absolute cringe, but as I said, its mostly boomers who use it because it was the main workhorse back when they started.

i have i9 9900k and rtx 2060 super and krita does sometimes lag even at sub 2k
i use basic 2 opacity brush and sometimes the rendering of the line itself is like half a second behind my pen
and every time i try to draw with mouse it draws ngons instead of curves this also disables the pens pressure and tilt and when i want to go back to the pen and i have to restart krita
i really dont want to go back to photoshop to not be reliant on it and the lag doesnt happen that often but yeah krita is pretty crappy
i really hope krita will eventually become a more usable and reliant software

when i tried to record it i used duplicate screen mode (tablet and display same screen) and none of those bugs happened
then i realized i switch a lot between extended and duplicate screen mode while krita is running and that was the cause of the weird behavior
well in my defense ive been using krita for about two weeks
thanks for making me realize this

Photoshop is also bloatware, but it does not tank with brushes at that canvas size. The water blending tool will, but not ordinary stamp brushes.
The transformation procedure is also smooth, unlike the powerpoint presentation you get while transforming in csp

>SAI/2 for Rei17 type blending.

When Rei17 used to use Sai she pretty much just use the Sai equivalent to the hard round brush. She didn't really use textures or even use any of Sai's special color blending or anything. It was pure skill

You can get the same type of brush in any program by enabling flow pen pressure and low brush spacing

>but not ordinary stamp brushes
First, no duh, the basic stamp brushes don't do color blending like CSP default brushes do. And yes they will, by default their spacing is >=5%, turn it down and zoom around your canvas, it will definitely lag behind your cursor.

Also I tested transform and saw around 8% for CSP and 20% for Photoshop. CSP likely uses at least two threads since I have a 2700X (16 threads) but the programming probably isn't great and the work is split unevenly. Photoshop likely uses 4, and it's smoother but not as smooth as it should be.

Its 64 bit and thus can use far more of your ram. Allows for seamless work with large numbers of layers and complex operations ontop of them. It has text tools, construction guidelines, a new scatterbrush engine, far more toolslots. Im definitely missing some but those are the main ones for me. SAI blends the most smoothly out of any software I know. I think you will not be getting the blending in any other program, imo.
>>4913621
Update your driver and disable windows ink on your tablet. Only photoshop needs windows ink to perform the best on line strokes. SAI should never ever lag.
>>4913629
CSP is extremely fast and only lags on large brushes honestly. And you're wrong, literally everything in existence can be mapped in PS key preferences.
>>4913736
I usually run CSP on like an 8000x6000 canvas and it never lags except on big brushes.
>>4913881
I think your computer's kinda bad.
>>4913971
>>4913992
I mean, SAI's basically for the lowest of lowest end PCs you might need to upgrade.
>>4914001
Again, you can map your keybindings but if you haven't figured out why you need to use PS you don't need it period.
>>4914006
If you can run PS I'd highly recommend using PS because it has the most in terms of brushes from pros (so you don't have to waste time trying to mimic dual brush hue jitter tilt on rotation textured brushes), extensions, adjustment layers, smart objects, liquify and all the 3D features are all neat.
>>4915028
PS actually does tank hard if you have insufficient RAM but you have to use one of the latest updates which fixes it. Mostly. But apply a few insane history states like flipping every layer and PS lags like hell. However, its featureset is too amazing to let go of.
>>4915164
There are lots of PS hidden features.
>>4915200
I think CSP's way more efficient for the work that it does but it's not a surprise that PS uses more because it's bloated.
>>4915790
SAI 2 has a lot more features and I highly recommend getting a copy. It's a straight upgrade compared to SA1.
>>4916415
>>4916835
I have to say a good pen stabiliser is pretty damn essential. Both SAI and CSP have really good ones. I haven't used Krita but the brush engine might be modular enough to make it worthwhile

First of all, you're a faggot for mass replying.

Second of all, >literally everything in existence can be mapped in PS key preferences.

wrong, you cant bind functions to anything other than a ctrl combination. Try and bind undo to Z.

>I think your computer's kinda bad.
Its probably stronger than yours. But its a ryzen CPU, which means that its not going to do as well for single threaded software.

>but if you haven't figured out why you need to use PS you don't need it period.

Drop the attitude you little prick. Liquify and channel editing are features present in other software. Many PS users dont even use them anyway.

You can simply get it by just typing on youtube
"Paint tool sai Mediafire"

but still, SAI is easy to learn and can run on a toaster

If you want SAI, get the version 2.0 on the official website and then search for a patcher on VK
