how much of a gain would one gain by isolating themselves monk style and hone their art

has anyone tried it?

if you're not already work focused and diciplined, monking yourself won't change anything.
t. a shut-in neet

>> No.4805969

I tried it. I ended up depressed and suicidal.

>> No.4805971

you have to actually be hard working for that to work. You're too lazy.

neets have internet, i would cut that and any other useless social connection. also get rid of any source of entertainment near me

That would be up to the person in question. Isolation could do someone a lot of good if they're usually too distracted, but otherwise they could end up prone to depression and/or stagnation.

in my teens i would spend as much as ~72 hours alone in a room painting. it was fun and almost therapeutic. ofc i would eat and sleep and use the bathroom when necessary

this also

part of motivation is external motivation / praise / views / encouragement

i've tried going on nothing but internal motivation and drugs and all that happened was I did coomer art / aka / the thing i like to draw most, big titty anime girls.

maybe it's different when monk it and you don't do drugs

>>4806014

just get more serious and have everyone take you more seriously by putting out professional (or more professional-leaning) works.

I am hikki for years and it only made me more suicidal and depressed. Only recently I started to recover. It takes rare kind of mentality and a wealthy family or lots of savings to withstand that pain.
