What techniques are you using to draw in photoshop? I brought Lazy Nezumi 2 years ago but I still feel that I could do better. Also, how good/bad is the newest photoshop with stabilizer built-in compared to Lazy Nezumi?

Bruh you only need like 40-50 hours of practice on a tablet to get pretty decent at linework. Lose the crutches.

Not in photosop. Also, I am better than decent. But I want to master it.

What is your standard for "decent"? I inked this freehand in Photoshop (traced over an existing image), no stabilizer. It's not perfect, but I figure if I'm a /beg/ and I can ink this, then someone who's been doing digital art full time for years should be able to do much better.

I don't use LN anymore, even thought it's still pretty good because of the perspective tools and other stuff. I turn on in-built stabilizer at 6% when I need to line something, with no other options, pic related is an example lineart wip.
>>4326206
digital tablets are pretty bad at translating your exact motion, I can draw extremely precise lines traditionally, but I still find a stabilizer useful even after many years of practice. Sure, I can maintain the lineart quality without it, but it speeds it up by at least 30%.

>tfw strokes all from the wrist because only ever draw on the smallest intuous

>> No.4326259

I think a lot of people who draw digitally are way too obsessed about their linework, myself included. Truth is that it doesn't matter. You can draw the perfect stroke but in one year it'll look like shit to you

>>4326230
Honestly? At this point you're better off sketching your stuff traditionally and then scanning it in order to proceed. Gotta think long term and your wrist may not endure that.

Glad there's a lineart thread
I can never seem to get my digital brushes to feel like traditional tools, they always look and act "off".

Comic inkers seem to have it figured out but I can't seem to emulate it

>digital tablets are pretty bad at translating your exact motion
It's the exact opposite.
Tablets are extremely sensitive to even the smalles movements in your arm, combined with a lack of resistance you'll get wobly lines.
A real pen or pencil will have a way bigger margin of error before your line starts to become wobly due to the resistance of the paper.

Problem is, it's the inking where it's a problem. I don't give a shit if my sketches are drawn from the wrist, it's the final lines (ie the inks) that I want the long, clean, unbroken lines for and that just ain't possible until I can upgrade.

ah, fellow small intuos user.

you can't help but draw from the wrist with that small area but I use minimal movement of the wrist with the zoom function. most of the time the initial sketch just requires finger movement.

you just have to adapt and learn wrist stretching routing.
