Ideally you should alternate periods of studying with periods of drawing finished pieces - and the latter periods should get progressively longer the better you become at drawing.

Pro tip. I find it a lot easier to let loose and start drawing for fun when Im drawing with friends online or in any multi user online drawing room. I have laughed harder than ever and found so much joy doodling shit with others. It definitely helped me improve too my mileage skyrocketed because i was having fun drawing and became addicted. It was more fun than playing videogames

The best types are ones that clear themselves automatically every 5 minutes or so so that theres always room to draw. Its not as fun when someone starts making a 5 hour rendered masterpiece that takes up half the canvas and there no room. I wish i knew how to code id make the best online drawing site

You can be creative with basic exercises, and besides, repetition is the mother of skill. As I see and become more aware of how basic exercises excel your growth and improve the final outcome, the more likely I’ll do them and enjoy it. It is no different than a musician needing to practice scales everyday. Or athletes needing to stick to a strict diet. If you can’t enjoy drawing the mundane, then how can you enjoy drawing at all? (Not saying to only do these exercises but not doing them is a major hindrance on the road of progress)
