Every single ellipse is in wrong perspective, and i mean every single one, you can check for yourself. The sense of scale and object placement is all wrong!

Incorrect noodle-like anatomy, all the figures in the painting look flat except the orc in the right. Very unappealing proportions.

It's all generic fantasy garbage in avery unappealing way. The shapes are very weak, the characters are only memorable because of their very odd flatness.
>rendering
all mud-shit with very inconsistent values. Wood, glass stone and skin all look like the same material.
>Story-telling
WTF is even going on with that retarded girl pouring beer on herself. The only touch of world building is that ugly weird thing in the poorly drawn jar.

As a student,you are to follow the concept of working large to small, ensuring everything is proportionally and structurally sound before you start rendering, get all the “hard” work out of the way before render in details and waste time redoing the eye 5 times. This is what every artist does, if someone can “skip” a step or do a couple steps at the same time it’s not because the never followed the logic of working large to small it’s because they’ve done it thousands of times they can take shortcuts. There’s “different” workflows but both comparative measurement/construction, and sight size follow this simple rule.

Ruan jia still made sure the proportions and everything else was reading well before painting. You’re always free to do what you want but you shouldn’t ignore what’s been proven to work well for the past few centuries since at least the Renaissance times. I would also add none of the greatest artists would be nearly as great without their teachers. There are very few if any artist who never had a teacher or mentor and did well.
