I need to commission some artwork for a commercial project. Where's the best place to find artists for hire?
When I posted this question before I was told that I should look on twitter. I tried doing that but the volume of thoroughly unskilled candidates made it hard to find what I was looking for. Are there no better options? Fiverr is okay but I've noticed that the artists who frequent it generally sell themselves cheap and put little work into their orders to compensate for their low prices. On the flipside search engines generally direct me to professional illustrators who charge far more than I can pay, which is something like $20-$40 per a bust shot like this one.

hm if that is your budget try going through some DA, tumblr, and twitter begs. Like if you want something quality from an somewhat known artist then you should be willing to spend at least 150 bucks. What you posted seems kinda like thumbnails people commission, and they usually go from 20 - 40

so if you want artists then you gotta find them, after all there should be a specific reason why you want exactly that one artist to create stuff for you.

If you just need someone who will throw out some copy paste beg designs for you like a meat factory then probably try the sites the others have mentioned like fiver or upwork
