Wacom Intuos Pro Medium (2015). I bought it in 2016 off of craigslist for cheap (nothing wrong with it the seller just never used it). I picked it because I liked my previous Wacom Intuos tablet, however the USB ports broke inside the tablet from regular use. The USB port broke in the new tablet as well, after about a month of regular use. Fuck me.

At least it has wireless so I can still use this one, but god damn is it really that much to ask for either proper soldering to the circuit board or a corded version of the tablet that won't break like that?

>> No.4262087

>>4262048
Those are literally the two worst brands. There are others in this thread who say they love their cheap Chinese knock-offs. Cherry picking much, Wacom shill?

Wacom has many driver, customer service, and build quality issues. They don't admit their faults or fix them because they think that admitting to a mistake and remedying it will lose them business. They changed the texture of the active area to shit that eats up pen nibs, because customers weren't buying nibs often enough.

Wacom is on par with or lower quality than the chink brands these days, and they're only going to catch up or surpass Wacom, while Wacom stays in their comfort zone thinking they'll always be at the top, continuing to make shit that breaks and eats nibs. Cope, Wacom shill.

another anon here with a cintiq pro 24. have been working on a 13hd for 6 years and the step up is insane. The 4k, less parallax and i like that the nib is much smaller so it's less guesswork for where the line is coming out from under the pen.

i was expecting a bit more of a paper texture than it is, idk i guess it's like a very smooth paper, but barely different from a 13hd. i'm satisfied with the feeling of drawing on it using the felt nibs though.

i also got a wacom slim pen which feels seriously premium, the standard pen sizes are too thick and tire my hand out. overall with that set up there's practically no disconnect for me with drawing on paper / digital, would recommend.

1) no space on my desk for anything bigger
2) traditionally, I draw on A4 or smaller
3) wanted to finally draw with a screen display

Results: it works fantastic, but I still wish I bought 22HD. 13 is great and all but I guess I draw much bigger than I thought, I need more screen space for those arm strokes man. Oh and I wish it was portable in a way, sometimes I want to draw on my bed or in a different room.

>do you think the cintiq pro 13 is worth it over the ipad pro?

Nah, but tl;dr incoming:

unfortunately that's one of those questions with those gay ass answers like "it's the user's preference!"

I can only tell you from my experience what's annoying about the two compared to eachother.
Take it with a grain of salt, I just draw for fun, strictly a hobby and I do dumb shit like use only round hard setting and only use 1 layer like a retard etc. and I primarily just doodle comic-y stuff and rarely color/switch to a non-pen tool.

I've only been using the Wacom Cintiq for a few hours, I only use CSP which I bought for windows and iOS/iPadOS and has quick cloud transfers between devices. (I simply resize images in PS.) That's the extent of my program usage. Retarded but it works, my life's motto.

>First impression
First thing I noticed was Cintiq pen stroke lags a bit more than ipad pen strokes. Nothing huge, but noticeable when you see how long it takes the line to catch the tip of the pen on fast long strokes. I never user stabilization cause that's gay so I don't know if that would fix it, but I'll never know. I draw fast anyway so it's a non-issue for me, but may annoy a real actual artist. It feels a shitload better to draw on a Wacom though, ipad pro has an annoying glassy screen that you will get used to, but still.

>Overall
The cintiq has wires and the iPad doesn't.

That's my personal bottom line, which may not seem like a big deal but it's a lot less annoying and infinitely more convenient to have an all-in-one tablet you can take anywhere and draw with.
For example I think only the pro 16 cintiq and above can have the expansion to make it a portable windows tab and thus make it a gigantic ipad thing, but you're lookin at $2,000+ or some wild shit for that sort of thing.

>tldr
get iPad Pro for portable priority, cintiq for bigger screen priority, ANY if you can find a deal like me, both if you really like to draw shit.

PS for ipad sucks dick

10-20% is a lot, i use traditional, but that is seriouslly a good investment, there is a reason the small increment tech bussiness sells to big corporations: you save time, you need the lattest quadro (up to 7% faster) to render the CG fast to get with the schedule, other reason is you spend 5k to win millions in the industry, but then again, if you grow 10-20% faster, then you save literalyl years. The better medium to grow is traditional anyway so im going to keep at it and when im ready im going to buy the better tech on the time.

Cintiq 27QHD. I got it 2 years ago after getting the luckiest freelance job of my life. I was able to buy the tablet, the stand, a gaming chair, and an ikea desk. Why? because it's the best tablet there is. Also.. I thought my favorite artist had this tablet (because I assumed he was rich), and i thought that gave him an unfair advantage over me. It was only after I bought it that I asked him what tablet he used and he said the old cintiq 21"ux which is no more than $250 on ebay lol. not that it made a difference though, it's still the greatest thing in the world

By 10-20% better I meant overall build quality, driver support etc. as the question was asking about tech support.

Anyone has experience with Gaomon?
They only sell 8 tablets, but each is well designed and specs keep up with Huion - but at half the price.

I'm looking into finally getting my first screen tablet, but need some advice.

Since I'm familiar with Huion (Giano user), I've been looking at the Kamvas and Kamvas Pro, but not sure how important of a factor parallax will be.

I kind of want the Pro to minimize dealing with that, and it has side buttons; but it's a 16in screen for the price I'm looking at, and I am used to xboxheug.
The Kamvas 20 (non Pro) has a bigger pane of glass in front that seems to cause a lot of parallax from what I saw in a review, but its also 20 inches which is about the size of my current tablet; is the parallax frustrating to work with? Is it worth going smaller screen at reduced amount?

>> No.4286326

>>4286302
Coming from a tablet, parallax is a none issue.

Usually only traditional people who can't focus on the cursor but focus's on the tip of the stylus can't deal with any amount of parallax.

I also have Giano and will upgrade to kamvas in some time, personally I'd never buy a screen tablet without screen lamination, the whole point of screen advantage is the user comfort of drawing directly onscreen, if you're gonna focus only on the cursor then you don't need to upgrade.
I'd go all the way and get the Pro 21.5 inch. It's pricey, but it'll be repaying that value for several hours every single day, for many years.

>> No.4286824

>>4286822
Yeah I'm retarded so I had decided on the 19.5in Pro. Cant do almost 900 for the 22, but ~500+ I can barely manage and it's a size I know comfortably.

The ones I was looking at were 400 anyways, so it's not a big leap.

I also feel like what the other user said unintentionally helped a lot; if laminated helps traditional users adjust, surely going from laminated to traditional will also help to some degree, and I do want to become more comfortable with it.

Aside from that, cable management, placement, and the side buttons ended up making my decision, as I don't want to buy a third party stand so I can use my keyboard at the same time.

>> No.4286831

>>4286824
Cool.
If price is a major consideration, you might be happier with xp-pen's prices. Also Gaomon has a 20in laminated display tablet for ~400.

Don't get the Wacom DTU-1631. It's their business/corporate line where you say people sign in at reception for a day pass and things like that.

The Wacom 21ux requires a specific vga adapter which finding one that works can be an issue and since it's out of production if ever you roll over the stylus with your chair and break it, it will be costly to get a stylus.

So it comes to the huions. Do you want the larger size to draw on, or do you want more pressure sensitivity? Do you feel more more comfortable with hardware that was released 6 years ago vs one that was released 2 years ago.

Four years ago I bought the cheapest non-ancient wacom tablet I could find, and it ended up being a medium Wacom One.
I've been using it since, basically every day, and it's starting to show singns of wear.
I'm thinking about buying a new (identical) one, but also considering upgrading to a different model.
Is there any reason why I should go for bamboo or whatever else? Do they have literally any advantage over this one (aside from hotkey buttons, which I won't use, because I just have all the shortcuts bound on my keyboard)
Not that I don't want, nor need, a tablet with a screen. I've always been drawing while looking at my monitor, that's how I learned to draw from scratch, and the few adventures I had with drawing on screen tablets didn't much inspire me.

My HD24 Cintiq was shipped in a crate that FedEx and UPS refused to handle, B&H had to send it via a shipping company. An adult can and has sat on the box and it didn't even dent. I know the new ones are smaller and don't need crates that big, but I wasn't expecting what showed up, lol.
