I just look at the pictures. It's not hard to figure out what's going on. Like in this one, it's mapping out the angles and proportions of a moe face. The diagrams are very thorough in the ones I've read.

It is more a tutorial on how to stylize and break down IRL knowledge in drawing anime in motion (use the knowledge of gesture), foreshorten the bodies and limbs (use the knowledge of perspective), and effectively translate the knowledge of real-life anatomy and form the style of anime. But, there is life reference on every page, 3D men and women, right next to their 2D counterparts. There are notes showing you why he doesnt drawing some parts as you would in life drawing (to make it look appealing as manga and why you do this), and explaining to some anatomy that may confuse anyone as well.

Idk why the name "drawing girls" in /ic/ book thread, it included men also. The title "写真 から描き起こす マンガデッサン - 動けるキャラが上手に描ける!" - "Draw manga from photo - you can draw moving characters well!"
