This question is quite specific so I thought I'd ask the board directly, but are there any other comfy painting/drawing tutorial videos such as Bob Ross's Joy of Painting? None of that HEYWHATSUPGUYS quick cut bullshit that's all over Youtube these days. Also, preferably not deliberate ASMR shit since that always feels phoney to me

I doesn't have to be the greatest lessons in the world, Bob Ross understood that overcoming anxiety and just practicing was more important than being obsessed about "working right" and not doing anything at all. I'm just looking for a tutorial series that's actually pleasant to watch.

It's hard to find channels that aren't like this, generally if it's not a timelapse with music it's ASMR stuff, your best bet is painting demonstrations.

Try searching for very long videos, you can filter out most HEYGUYS from the thumbnails

browse through and 30m-1hr drawing videos. he sometimes brands it as asmr, but deal, that's youtube for you.
his other videos are borderline tumblr artist lavendertowne shit (bad how-tos and all) so beware.
