It's not racist the way I'm using it. The symbol is from my culture and I am using it to express that a character is of a certain belief system and that belief system drives their motivation and decisions as a character.

Gamma Ray, bounty hunter, freedom fighter, off-and-on freeminer. Walking rogueish hero stereotype. Loves old western movies and books and carries on the spirit of the Old West gunslinger IN SPAEC. Had an adoptive human father, now deceased, whom he still loves and cherishes.

Gamma is an Astran, a glowy alien with a nuclear fusion core. The Astran race was Krypton'd by an unknown force some unknown amount of time ago and two ships full of Astran babies ended up in human space 500 years before Gamma's story begins. The remnants of the Astran race was raised by humans and most of the population currently reside on a single planet given to the Astran race by the main galactic human government. Humans and Astran relations are generally good, as the humans loved their glowy star babies and kind of spoiled them. Humans in poorer sectors, as well as some renegade human factions outside the galactic gov't control hold some resentment towards the Astrans, however.

Selene, a songstress, actress, and proprietress of a traveling musical theatre IN SPAEC. Tinkers with old analog musical equipment as a hobby. Isn't quite the fighter that Gamma is but still a good hand with a gun and has had to deal with some sticky situations before since she often travels outside of civilized space. Generous, sometimes to a fault.

Like Gamma, Selene was found and raised by human foster parents. Roughly 500 years after the first two ships arrived, single pods with Astran babies were found stranded far outside human space, running off power reserves to keep the contents in stasis. There was a third ship, unknown and unseen, that had somehow gotten damaged to the point that the pods were ejected into open space. Selene's pod was found a few years before Gamma's by a couple prospecting unknown planets and taken in as their own. Unlike Gamma, who was raised and lived among independent miner colonies out in deep space, Selene was raised in a wealthy household in civilized space. Her foster parents are also still alive.

if you have been around the block a few times you will realize you are never as creative as you thought you would be. A lot of times, I am not looking to see a totally original idea but rather a well executed version of an old idea.

People who can execute an idea through better than I do tended to be able to take their own interesting spin on things. Like magical school battle, or unwanted parenthood or isekai, none of those are original idea in broad stroke, but there are different and sometimes interesting way to execute them.

If you considered cleaning up your lines and tighten the form of the mechanical parts to make the design looks more functional, it could really compliment the design even more.

The distress and weathering maybe would look better as flaked paint or rust instead of lots of crosshatching? You have a lot options obviously.

I appreciate your input a lot thank you! He is a concept for a personal story I'm drawing up, this is the basic model drone of a robotic society - outdated, and used for generic labor. I wanted to give off the impression that he is easy to build, program, and abuse. I didn't even think of paint chipping and distress so I'll try those ideas out. Originally I had him blockier all around but the more I drew him, the more simplified his basic shapes got.

Originally she was a fursona of mine, but now she's just a creation I draw every now and then to relax when I'm not doing bigger projects. I compiled some doodles of her, I'm still not sure on what final design I like.

Overall the species is based on her being a wind spirit, and a guardian of someone she's linked to.

I've already posted this before in the other thread but these are my most wholesome OCs. Esther, an engineer who flies around space and worlds making friends and building things. DVD aka DaViD who was built by her. He is very shy. They have fun adventures. Still tinkering with clothing design and I don't know how to build robots so I'll have to work on that more.

No, and people should perhaps calm down on Loomis and Vilppu. I mostly study a large array of artists of today. I never studied Loomis and only observed from Vilppu once. I tend to look at artists I like from 21st century, study their design and how they paint/draw. I suppose that is personally because I like the feel and look of modern art and pre modern art (talking about digital artists such as Seung Eun Kim, Even Mehl Amundsen, Sargent, Maxim Verehin etc. Not abstract art from poop galleries if you get what I mean)
I haven't read any books either, just some tutorials guided with writing and explanations.

Being on 4chan for a while, people zoom in on Loomis and Vilppu a lot, but why not throw a larger net, and observe from artist you enjoy looking at a daily basis. Take what you can so you can apply it to your own work.

chin is too angular and not aligned with the nose properly, move it a little to the left and make it flatter.
Mouth is a little too high and the lines you did for the lips are too bold, coupled with the exagerrated eyelashes; you made him look like a cocksucking faggot. move the mouth a little lower and instead of drawing in the lips just shade them them in, go a little soft on the lower lip.
also that tuft of hair on top is not working. you're clearly going for a blend of realism so the joey wheeler hair isn't going to fit.
